Biological Activity

Zeatin is a coconut milk-derived plant hormone and is a common plant cytokinin that is found in the developing or meristematic tissues and organs such as roots, shoot apex, immature organs, and others. Zeatin promotes the growth of lateral buds and stimulates cell division (lateral dominance), callus initiation, and seed germination. Zeatin is used with Murashige and Skoog and other media. Zeatin promotes multiple shoot generation from internodes and high-frequency thick-spread roots.
