Ustekinumab is a human monoclonal antibody that targets IL12 and IL23, natural proteins that regulate the immune system and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Ustekinumab blocks IL-12 and IL-23, which help activate specific T cells. It binds to the P-40 subunits of IL-12 and IL-23 so that they cannot bind to their receptors.
