Secologanin, a secoiridoid glucoside, is a pivotal terpenoid intermediate in the biosynthesis of biologically active monoterpenoid indole alkaloids. Secologanin synthase (cytochrome P450 isoform CYP72A1) catalyzes the oxidative cleavage of loganin into Secologanin.
