S-Adenosyl-L-Methtonine is an important metabolite that is ubiquitous in all biological cells. SAM can participates in the transmethylation reaction, transsulfurization reaction and transaminopropyl reaction of cells, and plays an irreplaceable role in the methylation modification, sulfur group storage and transfer of important intracellular molecules. S-Adenosyl-L-methionine has antidepressant activity, it is endogenously produced from methionine and ATP by the action of methionine adenylyltransferase, and is an important methyl donor with oral viability capable of being used in liver disease and osteoarthritis research.
