Recombinant Human TGF-β2 Protein is a multifunctional cytokine that regulates cell proliferation, growth, differentiation and movement, as well as the synthesis and deposition of extracellular matrix. The three mammalian subtypes, transforming growth factor-β, transforming growth factor-β1, β2, and β3, send signals through the same receptor, causing similar biological responses. TGF-β2 has an inhibitory effect on IL-2-dependent T cell growth, and may exert an autocrine function through immune surveillance that inhibits tumor growth.
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using mouse HT-2 cells, the ED50 is < 0.2 ng/ml.
