Biological Activity

Calprotectin (S100A8/A9) which has a wide plethora of intra- and extracellular functions. It contributes to leukocyte function, regulates the cytoskeleton, and activates intracellular NADPH oxidase. It is produced by neutrophils and monocytes, and forms Ca2+-dependent heterodimer/heterotetramer complexes (termed calprotectin) with S100A9.

The recombinant human S100A8 & S100A9 heterodimer expressed the target gene encoding human S100A8 (Met1-Glu93) with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus and human S100A9 (Met1-Pro114) with a flag tag at the C-terminus.
