Recombinant human/mouse/rat Activin A protein is A multifunctional cytokine belonging to transforming growth factor β (TGF β) superfamily. It is associated with a variety of pathophysiological processes, including inflammation, fibrosis, and tumorigenesis.
Measured by its ability to induce SMAD signaling in 293-Activin A Res cells, the ED50 for this effect is 1.3 ng/ml.
Measured by its ability to induce hemoglobin expression in K562 human chronic myelogenous leukemia cells, the ED50 for this effect is ~1.2 ng/mL.
