Biological activity: Fibroblast Growth factor 19 (FGF19) is a secreted protein belonging to the FGFs family. FGF19 is expressed in fetal brain, cartilage, retina, and adult gallbladder. FGFs regulates cellular activity through at least five distinct high-affinity FGF receptor subfamilies (FGFRs) :FGFR-1, -2, -3, and -4, all of which have intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity. FGFRs are important for the regulation of glucose and lipid homeostasis.
