Recombinant Human BAFF Protein is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family and is expressed in T cells, macrophages, monocytes and dendritic cells, stimulating the functions of B cells and T cells, and is an important factor for the survival and maturation of peripheral B cells. BAFF signals through three different TNF receptors TACI, BCMA and BAFF-R.
Determined by dose-dependent mitogenic activity on human RPMI 8226 cells, the ED50 is < 20.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5.0 x 104 units/mg.
