Primidone (Mysoline) is an anticonvulsant of the pyrimidinedione class, the active metabolites of which, phenobarbital (major) and phenylethylmalonamide (PEMA) (minor), are also anticonvulsants. It is used mainly to treat complex partial, simple partials, generalized tonic-clonic seizures, myoclonic, akinetic seizures.
