PHOSPHATIDYLETHANOLAMINE (PE) is a mixture of phosphatidylethanolamines. Glycerophospholipids and cephalins can maintain membrane structure, fluidity, and ion permeability, and serve as precursors of second messengers such as arachidonic acid and diacylglycerol. Glycerophospholipids and cephalins can regulate signal transduction, cell apoptosis, and membrane transport.
