Oxcarbazepine is an anticonvulsant and mood-stabilizing compound used primarily in the treatment of epilepsy. Oxcarbazepine protects mice and rats against generalized tonic-clonic seizures induced by electroshock. Oxcarbazepine is also used to treat anxiety and mood disorders, and benign motor tics.
