Myristoyl pentapeptide-4 is a bioactive peptide with promotion of hair growth effect. Myristoyl pentapeptide-4 is a synthetic peptide composed of five amino acids with the sequence Lys-Thr-Thr-Lys-Ser (KTTKS).
Myristoyl pentapeptide-4 (10-40 μM, 48 h) specifically targets keratin, activates the transcription and translation of keratin genes, promotes the synthesis of keratin, thereby improving the elasticity and strength of hair. Myristoyl pentapeptide-4 (0-25 μM, 24 h) promotes the proliferation of HaCaT, stimulates the migration of human hair follicle papilla cells (HDPCs). Myristoyl pentapeptide-4 also promotes wound healing and skin repair.
Myristoyl pentapeptide-4 (500 μL, topical application, once daily for 21 days) increases the the number of hair follicles, and promotes the hair growth in mouse androgenic alopecia models.
