Iseganan is a protein integrin as well as an anti-microbial peptide that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as fungi, and kills bacteria and fungi by attaching to and disrupting the integrity of lipid cell membranes. It can be used in studies related to oral mucositis.
