Human serum albumin is a protein found in human plasma. Its non-glycosylated, single-chain polypeptide contains 585 amino acids, has a molecular weight of 66 kD, transports fatty acids, bile pigments, amino acids, and steroid hormones, and serves as an excipient, stabilizer, and encapsulant.
