Human β-defensin-2 is a cysteine-rich cationic skin antimicrobial peptide (SAP) produced by epithelial cells and a member of the cationic host defense peptide (HDP) family. Antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria and Candida (LD90: 25 μg/ml). Can be used in studies related to colitis.
