Fluroxacin is a new broad - spectrum fluoroquinolone compound. In one study, fluroxacin significantly inhibited cell proliferation at concentrations of 50-800 μ g /mL for 12, 24, and 48 h in a dose - and time-dependent manner. Only fluroxacin combined with 5-FU significantly inhibited tumorigenesis. Fluroxacin combined with 5-FU could inhibit the proliferation of bladder cancer cell lines in vitro and in vivo.
