DSPE-PEG-Galactose is a targeted nanomaterial composed of DSPE, PEG and galactose, capable of exerting targeting effects within liposomes, nanoparticles or membrane protein systems. DSPE-PEG-Galactose achieves precise targeted delivery through the specific binding of galactose to the ASGPR receptor on the surface of hepatocytes.
Applications
Targeted Liposomes and Nanomedicine Delivery:
DSPE-PEG-Galactose is frequently employed in the preparation of liver-targeted liposomes. Through the specific binding of its galactose terminus to the ASGPR receptor, it enhances the uptake efficiency of drugs or gene carriers within hepatocytes.
Surface Modification of Nanocarriers:
PEG chains enhance hydrophilicity and circulation time, while the galactose moiety provides targeted recognition. This configuration is suitable for controlled drug release, targeted tumour delivery, or liver disease research.
Glycoprotein Receptor-Mediated Imaging:
Can be co-encapsulated with fluorescent dyes, radionuclides, or MRI contrast agents within liposomes or nanoparticle surfaces to achieve receptor-mediated imaging of liver or tumour tissues.
Biomembrane Functionalisation:
Can be employed to modify cell membranes or artificial lipid membranes, enabling glycoprotein recognition studies, membrane interaction research, and glycoprotein-protein interaction analysis.
