CDTA (1,2-Cyclohexylenedinitrilotetraacetic acid) is a metal chelating agent that can be used as a titrant and heavy metal detoxifier, among other applications. CDTA is an analogue of EDTA with enhanced lipophilicity and pre-organizing capacity, forming more stable complexes with metal ions.
CDTA (36 mg/kg; ip; once daily for two days) alleviates manganese-induced acute neurotoxicity in a Sprague-Dawley rat model.
