Kalamifen is a muscarinic resistant, similar to atropine; Muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist. Camifen is commonly used as a cough compound, but is also used in Parkinson's disease research. The compound has also been shown to have antidepressant properties, possibly including inhibition of g-protein-coupled internal rectifying potassium channel GIRK.
