Biological Activity

Candesartan (Atacand) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist with an IC50 of 15 ug/kg. It reduced the risk of developing hypertension by nearly two-thirds during this period. In the last two years of the study, all participants were switched to placebo. By the end of the study, candesartan had significantly reduced the risk of hypertension, by more than 15%.

Protocol (for reference only)
Cell Experiment
Cell lines KU-19-19 cells
Preparation method Seeding KU-19-19 cells at a cell density of 2 ×104 per well in 96-well plates and allowed to grow overnight. Then treating the cells with various concentrations of Candesartan for various periods of time. Cell viability is determined by the Alamar Blue assay to examine the cytotoxicity and antiproliferative effect of candesartan. Determining the absorbance value of each well in a microplate reade
