Biological Activity

AZD4877 is a specific, potent inhibitor of Eg5. AZD4877 selectively inhibits microtubule motor protein KSP (also called kinesin-5 or Eg5), which may result in the inhibition of mitotic spindle assembly. AZD4877 is generally well-tolerated with pharmacodynamic evidence of target inhibition in circulating PBMCs. AZD4877 was generally tolerable in patients with advanced urothelial cancer.
