Biological Activity

Mono-ammonium glycyrrhizinate (AMGZ) is a unique product derived from Licorice root and has an extremely sweet taste. It is an excellent foaming agent that acts as a co-emulsifier. It is also excellent in recipes that require gelling or suspension properties for a consistent feeling in the mouth or a stable cloud effect in the product.Very small quantities are required to achieve the desired results, usually a few parts per million. However, varying amounts should be evaluated in your product for best taste.MAGZ is up to 50 times sweeter than sucrose — and can greatly enhance an already sweetened product as a result of synergies with both natural and synthetic sweeteners. It was found to be active against viruses, while not affecting cell activity and ability to replicate. It was also reported that glycyrrhizic acid inactivates herpes simplex particles irreversibly.

Related HMGB1 Products
Glycyrrhizic acid

Glycyrrhizic acid is a widely used anti-inflammatory agent isolated from the licorice root. Glycyrrhizic acid is a triterpenoid saponinl, acting as a direct HMGB1 antagonist, with anti-tumor, anti-diabetic activities.

Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate

Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is a HMGB1 inhibitor, inhibits atopic dermatitis-related gene expression with anti-anti-inflammatory activity.

NecroX-7

NecroX-7 is a potent free radical scavenger and a HMGB1 (high-mobility group box 1) inhibitor. NecroX-7 can be used as an antidote to acetaminophen toxicity. NecroX-7 exerts a protective effect by preventing the release of HMGB1 in ischemia/reperfusion injury. NecroX-7 inhibits the HMGB1-induced release of TNF and IL-6, as well as the expression of TLR-4 and receptor for advanced glycation end products. NecroX-7 can be used graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) research.

Inflachromene

Inflachromene, a microglial inhibitor, binds to HMGB1 and HMGB2 and exerts anti-inflammatory effects. Inflachromene effectively downregulates proinflammatory functions of HMGB and reduces neuronal damage. Inflachromene can be used for the research of neuroinflammatory disorders.
