ADHP is currently the most sensitive and stable fluorescent probe known for detecting HRP and H₂O₂. ADHP exhibits lower background fluorescence levels and is less susceptible to oxidation by atmospheric oxygen. In immunological assays, ADHP has been widely adopted for HRP detection. ADHP can also be employed to track total H₂O₂ levels. Since H₂O₂ is generated in numerous enzyme-catalyzed redox reactions, coupling ADHP with enzymatic reactions enables its use for detecting various oxidases, related enzymes or substrates, and cofactors. Examples include the activity of glucose, acetylcholine, cholesterol, L-glutamate, and amino acids.
