AA-dUTP is acrylate-labelled deoxyuridine triphosphate (dUTP), wherein the acrylate group possesses photocrosslinking properties (forming covalent bonds with adjacent carbon-carbon double bonds or amino groups upon ultraviolet irradiation). AA-dUTP may be incorporated into DNA strands as a building block for DNA synthesis, facilitating studies of DNA-protein interactions (such as trapping proteins bound to DNA), DNA structural analysis, and mechanisms of DNA damage repair.
