| Description: | α-Methyl-p-tyrosine (AMPT) is a competitive inhibitor of tyrosine hydroxylase, which converts tyrosine into DOPA. α-Methyl-p-tyrosine is also an orally active inhibitor of catecholamine synthesis, inhibiting the hydroxylation of tyrosine into DOPA. |
